Bus Trips (Day)
Zoar Village and Warther Museum – Wed.September 19, 2018
Travel back in time as we visit Tuscarawas County in east-central Ohio. Our first stop will be a walking tour of Zoar Village, founded in 1817 by German separatists seeking religious freedom. Zoar Village,
was recently recognized as a National Historic Landmark, and existed from 1819-1898 as a Christian Communal Society. After a stop for lunch, we will travel to Dover to visit the Warther Museum and Gardens, housing the carvings of Ernest Warther and showing the evolution of the steam engine from 1905-1971. These
models are beautifully carved from ebony, ivory and walnut. We will also visit the gift shop featuring famous Warther’s cutlery. This is a great way to spend a September day.
